On October 3, 2026, it’s time for “Türen auf mit der Maus”!
Little wonders happen every day—in companies, clubs, workshops, studios, labs, and many other places. Things that adults take for granted often seem like magic to children. This year the physics institutes will join the “Maustag” to offer insights into the fascinating work of a physicist. The WDR website offers fascinating opportunities all over Germany.
Description
How can a drop of water become a magnifying glass? What does sunlight reveal to us? And why does water simply roll off some surfaces? Join us in discovering the little wonders of physics! At our hands-on stations, you can experiment, do crafts, and conduct your own research—from telescopes to tiny materials.
Event for up to 24 children and approximately 24 accompanying adults. The program begins at 10:00 a.m. with a short introductory talk, followed by approximately 3 hours of hands-on experimentation, a 30-minute break, and two concurrent lab tours for adults. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. on-site on October 3.
Accessibility: Elevators provide access to the lecture hall and the laboratories. We ask that you register in advance so we can plan the necessary transportation for the program.
