On January 20, 2026, the Cluster of Excellence DYNAVERSE was officially inaugurated in AULA 2 of the Main Buiding at the University of Cologne.
The ceremony featured distinguished guests of honor, including the Rector of the University of Bonn, Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Michael Hoch, and the Rector of the University of Cologne, Prof. Dr. Joybrato Mukherjee. The cluster’s spokespersons, Prof. Dr. Stefanie Walch-Gassner (Cologne) and Prof. Dr. Cristiano Porciani (Bonn), presented the scientific vision of DYNAVERSE, outlined key research goals, and introduced upcoming projects exploring how the universe evolves across vastly different timescales.
The program also included wonderful musical performances by concert pianist Mrs. Ratner and violinist Mrs. Krasteva from the Cologne University of Music.
The event concluded with a reception featuring an outstanding exhibition showcasing the diverse scientific highlights of EXC DYNAVERSE.

Throughout the day, a mobile planetarium set up in front of the Philosophikum Building of the University of Cologne offered special shows for the general public, schoolchildren, and event guests. Below some pictures from this part of the big event:
