Prof. Dr. Gregor Gassner, Colloquium, DLR Braunschweig, Germany:
n this talk, we present the newest developments for discontinuous Galerkin spectral element methods applied to advection dominated problems, such as the compressible Navier-Stokes equations. The talk includes the numerical stability analysis of the method, some turbulence modelling aspects and considerations, limiting strategies based on compatible Legendre-Gauss-Lobatto subcell finite volume methods, and discussions about the overall computational performance.
