SUE Retreat 2026

This week, Dynaverse organized the first SUE Retreat at the University of Cologne. The SUE is the “Shared Universe Engine”: a physics-guided, smart, and cloud-based platform that combines a Data Laboratory and an Interface Hub with a so-called Machinery of Discovery. The goal of this retreat was to align individual sub-projects and define how we think of the SUE from different points of view.

Both days began with presentations of sub-projects across different PI groups and ARCs (Astrophysical Research Challenge). In the afternoon, participants discussed the three modes of the SUE. The “Export Mode” grants access to all data and workflows to Dynaverse researchers, the “Education Mode” is intended for knowledge transfer at different levels (from school pupils to university students), and the “Outreach Mode” provides an access point for the wider public to learn about research findings of Dynaverse.

More information about the SUE can be found here.

Participants belonging to different sub-groups presented their research projects relevant for SUE. Ina Taxis presents her machine learning project connected to ARC1. Information on ARC2 and ARC3 can be found following the links.
